Phishing is a type of social engineering attack that online hackers and scammers use to attempt to obtain your Sparrow account information such as username, password, 2FA code etc by pretending to be from Sparrow.
To protect yourself against such phishing attacks, we encourage you to:
1. Always ensure your device Operating System (OS) and Web browsers are updated to the latest version with Antivirus Software installed
2. Always check that you are accessing Sparrow at our official site at https://www.sparrowexchange.com. Scammers can create fake websites that look similar to the official URL in order to ask for sensitive information to gain control of your accounts. If you believe you've encountered a phishing site, please submit a troubleshoot request with the full URL. Please also include full email headers if the phish was sent via email. Our security team will investigate your report and work towards shutting down any malicious sites.
3. Never click the links when you receive suspicious or unexpected emails that appear to be from Sparrow. We will never ask you for private information such as 2FA codes or passwords in email, nor will we request you to send any digital assets to any destination. If someone claiming to be from Sparrow in email asks you for your login information or asks you to make a digital asset transfer, it is a scam.
If you have further questions or suffered a financial loss due to a phishing attack, please send us a ticket at Sparrow Cares and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
